DEVELOPMENT
What comes together is a really nice collage of ideas, influences and styles, using humour and emotion to to bring together very disparate hand-drawn animated styles into a singular vision, shaped by the people of Norwich and beyond.
Grassroots: Seasons
A second collaboration with Grassroots, this project was created for their landing page, as an ambient animation to show off their mascot character, as well as showcase the key values their platform strives for - growth and the strength in community.
DESIGN
As we created Grassroot's mascot (since effectionately named Julian) as a vector character in the original animation, we redesigned him entirely to fit the warmer, more illustrated look of hand-drawn animation.
We took a page out of our Lo-Fi animation book, using subtle animation and limited scenes to build an emotional picture and not be too distracting, as this animation sits on a web homepage. We used lighting and shading to paint the beauty of every season.
