Hi all! I'm happy to announce I'm representing Cut the Mustard Animation at the Spirit and Motion Q&A, screening, and industry panel.
Spirit and Motion is an event created by fellow NUA alumni Freya Oakes, made possible by Norwich University of the Arts, Norwich Puppet Theatre and Norwich and Norfolk Festival.
At its core, the project fosters connection—between disciplines, generations, and creative voices—culminating in a shared artistic outcome that reflects both individual perspectives and a collective identity rooted in place.
Across the last few weeks, Freya has been working with young people across Norfolk aged 8-18 to create animation, honouring the centuries of history through artforms like zoetropes and puppetry.
On May 14th, 5-7pm at Norwich Puppet Theatre, a number of animation professionals will be sitting on a panel where we discuss the projects and explore avenues to success for those working in art and animation in Norfolk. This is an extremely close subject to our hearts, so it's something we're really happy to be assisting with.
The guests are:
Freya Oaks, organiser, puppet maker and stop-motion animator.
Ryan Drewry, indie game animator and programmer.
Daniel Spencer, producer and educator.
Dan Kelby, superstar character designer.
Mike Tharme, armature and modelmaker.
And me!
We'd love to see you there. You can get tickets for free at Eventbrite link.
See you there! Liam
