48hr Lock-In Animation #4! 5-6th September 2025

Hi all! We're happy to announce our next animation Lock-in at Cut the Mustard, where we make a short film over one weekend, idea-to-render. We'll be kicking off on the 5th of September
We've previously made three, each taking turns directing.

Usually taking place in January, after a few delays (and avoiding the hot summer) we're happy to announce the weekend it'll be going ahead - the 5-6th of September. We'll be showing off our progress on social media, so keep an eye on our instagram for the fun.
Every year we have friends of the studio swing by to make some art for the film, lend a voice or add something into the process, no matter their ability. We'll be having guests come down Friday evening or Saturday day to contribute, so if you know us personally and want to come down, send us a DM.
I (Liam) have been super hyped to direct, having not done so for the non-client film since The Big Up all the way back in 2019. I've got loads of ideas but kept my promise to not know what we're making until the day (as is tradition). It's a special event for me and one I'm proud to be part of - despite never being out most polished or well-animated films, they represent a sense of fun and creativity that you can't get anywhere else, and a core pillar of Cut the Mustard's team culture.
